Big Data Consultant

We are looking for an experienced engineer to help build a talented team of Big Data consultants.

Job Description

As a Big Data Consultant, you will help our cross-industry customers to define and implement Big Data, from strategies to architecture to implementation. You will be designing and writing great software, and use cutting edge technologies. We are looking for a passionate developer to plan, design, develop, test, implement, execute and measure data-driven initiatives and applications.

Technical Requirements

The successful candidate should have 5+ years of experience in software development using Java and 3+ years of experience with Hadoop and related technologies. He/She should have a strong cross-functional technical background, excellent written/oral communication skills and willingness to expand their technical skills.

  • Deep understanding and related experience with Hadoop internals
  • Experience with Cloudera, Hortonworks or MapR distributions
  • Experience with Apache Spark
  • Experience with HBase or Cassandra
  • Expert knowledge of RDBMS, SQL and NOSQL databases
  • Expert in developing, profiling and debugging in Scala, Java & J2EE
  • Experience with agile and scrum methodologies
Nice-To-Have
  • Experience with HD Insight, InfoSphere BigInsights
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or IBM BlueMix
  • Experience with Storm
  • Experience with SOLR or ElasticSearch
  • Experience with MongoDB
  • Experience with ETL and BI

  • Experience in enterprise software consulting, working and managing relationships with enterprise customers
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills
